Mike Williams

Mike Williams grew up in various locations in the UK and overseas, completing his secondary schooling in Hong Kong. After graduating from Leeds University with a BA (Hons) in International History and Politics and returning to Hong Kong to begin his career, Mike started teaching English in China at three universities. He later continued in teaching English as an Additional Language in UK independent schools as the numbers of international students coming to the UK increased. More recently, he spent three years teaching in Abu Dhabi. He has held boarding, pastoral and academic positions and helped prepare students for Oxbridge and other leading UK universities.  

Mike gained his MPhil in Modern Languages from Dundee University; he is an examiner for the CIE IGCSE English as a Second Language paper and has also been an IELTS examiner for IDP Australia. He is married to Sonya, and they have three children. Mike enjoys football, reading, travelling, and having lived in the Lake District and North Wales, walking and camping in scenic places.
